Habits of Prayer - Lesson 1

4/1/2016

As we start this New Year we remind ourselves that our strong desire at ICB is to 'seek together to learn what it means to be wholehearted followers of Jesus'.  In pursuit of this desire we turn our attention to our habits of prayer.  Rooted in Matthew 6:5-13, we take time in this 4 week series to contemplate Scripture and share ideas, resources and tools to help each of us develop lives that are characterized and informed by prayer.  Lesson 1 leads us to the simple but profound words at the beginning of 'the Lord's Prayer' - Our Father.  In these words we find faith to believe who we are and whose we are!

Hi Phil, I have very recently received this blog web site address and I was so pleased to see that you have started a short series on prayer. As always God's timing is perfect. I had started to increase my prayer time a few weeks ago and have been giving much thought as to why so many of us fall short in spending time speaking to and listening to God in prayer. I have been reading a little book by Oswald Chambers called "if you will ask " and have found it helpful.
Now I have listened to your first sermon on prayer and look forward to those to come. It was good to hear you preach again, and I really loved hearing you lead us in the Lord's Prayer as you have done at Oaklands in the past. Thank you for this series on prayer and looking forward to # 2 Love and blessings to you and Martha, Rose.
