Responding to the story of The Shrewd Manager

Thank you to those who participated with us in discussion last Sunday evening on Luke 16:1-15.  It was a rich time together as we wrestled with this story which is so often mysterious.  We observed together in the text that God calls us to make a choice - none of us can serve two masters.  If money is in the first place in our lives, then God cannot be!  In the story which Jesus told to his disciples the shrewd manager chooses to place relationships over money.  The Pharisees, who come into the picture at the end of the text (v14-15), love money more than relationships.  The lesson we came away with is that we need to be very careful not to allow money or any other 'idol' to take the first place in our lives.  Sometimes even good things, like family or friends, can become idols to us if they take the very first place i.  From your perspective what are the most common 'idols' which tend to take the top place in our lives these days?? We'd love to hear your comments in response to this question!
