Advent 2013 Series

Welcome to ADVENT 2013!!
The word 'advent' literally means 'coming' but when we use it in association with this time of year it carries a strong connotation of expectancy and anticipation.  I suggest that what we anticipate is: a) the celebration of the first coming (advent) of Jesus and also b) the reality of His 2nd coming (advent).  We remind ourselves in this month that we have the privilege to live between the 2 advents of Jesus.  We do some physical rituals - like lighting candles and choosing themes - to help us pay attention to this season in which we live.  At ICB, we have chosen the following themes which will be represented by candles:

1. The Candle of Hope (December 1)
2. The Candle of Preparation (December 8)
3. The Candle of Joy (December 15)
4. The Candle of Love (December 22)
5. The Christ Candle (December 24 - Christmas Eve Service)

Please do join us as we celebrate these themes as they are given to us in Scripture!
