- Lesson 4 was entitled, 'Let us Press on to Know the Lord' and covered the text of chapters 5 & 6. 2 phrases stand out from this text. God says to His people, "I desire mercy, not sacrifice, and acknowledgement of God rather than burnt offerings" (6:6). Also, in the call to repent in the early part of chapter 6 we find these words, "Let us press on to know the Lord" (6:3). We marvel at the fact the God desires to be known by us(!), and then we seek for practical ways to come to know him better.
- Lesson 5 was entitled, 'Be Careful What You Sow' and covered chapters 7 & 8. The striking characteristic of this text is how God describes his people as foolish, "Ephraim is like a dove, easily deceived and senseless-- now calling to Egypt, now turning to Assyria" (7:11). In this chapters we are called to be very careful because we live in a very deceptive world!
Unfortunately, audio recordings are NOT available for lessons 4 & 5! Here's a brief summary.
